We executed Happy School project for Lokmangal Vidyalay at a place called Kodoli near Satara. About 750 children of farmers and factory workers study there completely free of cost. We selected this school after visiting many schools in Pune district based on the following observations: Teachers in the school are very enthusiastic about mentoring their students well. They ensure that the students get opportunities to participate in various tournaments and events even at distant places like Pune and Mumbai. Teachers spend from their pockets for such travel. Academic performance of the school is also very good with 3 students getting more than 90% marks in the SSC exam last year. We provided the following facilities as part of this project. 1. Painted, well maintained and secure school building 2. Separate toilets for boys and girls 3. Hand washing stations 4. Clean drinking water for both students and teachers 5. Benches for students 6. Well maintained space for teaching staff The following facilities were already available with the school 1. Library 2. Sports equipment 3. Shoes and School Bags for students
